2011 SENIOR BIOS

Cody Hollister

Cody started last year for the Cougars as a receiver and defensive back. Cody had a record setting year last year at receiver breaking the Mt. View record for most receiving yards in a season. He was also named as an honorable mention to the all-state team. Cody is an excellent athlete with very good speed and at six feet three inches tall, he is a big target. Cody is a complete receiver and not only catches well but is a tenacious blocker. He is one of the most competitive players on our team and we expect him to be one of the top receivers in the state this year. Cody is also an excellent student and has over a 3.75 grade point average. Cody will be going to college to further his education and hopes to continue his playing career.

Brandon Hosea

Brandon will play receiver and linebacker this year for the Cougars. He has worked this off season to make himself more of a complete football player. Brandon will be a utility player for us this year playing offense and defense as well as being a special team’s player. With multiple returning receivers, Brandon will be battling for playing time at a very competitive receiver position. We are also counting on Brandon to help us on several of our special teams. In addition to playing football, Brandon is also an accomplished wrestler at Mt. View.

Forest Samples

Forest Samples returns to the cougars football program this season after taking a year off. The Cougars will benefit from Forest's aggressive style of play which is fun to watch and will ultimately earn him time on the field.  Forest's hard work and dedication has made him an asset to the cougars, we are glad to have him back. Both the coaches and players look forward to a great season from this impressive player.

Joel Skotte

After a stellar junior year that saw him lead the state of Oregon in solo tackles, Joel Skotte looks to once again anchor the Cougar defense from his Middle Linebacker position.  A true “student of the game”, Joel has devoted countless hours to offseason training and film watching.  This year, also look for Joel to provide his lethal combination of speed and power from the tailback position on offense.  Joel is one of the top recruits in the state of Oregon, and the Cougars will look to him on both sides of the ball.

Nick Gentry

After seeing time at the tight end position on offense last year, also look for Nick at the Outside Linebacker position on defense this year.  Nick has devoted a lot of time in the offseason in the weight room, and will be a key senior leader for the Cougars.  A true three-sport athlete, Nick also participates on the baseball and basketball teams.  The Cougars will look to Nick’s versatility and athletic ability at multiple positions on both offense and defense.

Matt Miller

A key returner on the offensive line, the Cougars will look to Matt’s experience and leadership to help anchor a young offensive line this year.  After playing a number of positions on defense last season, Matt has finally found a home at the weak side inside linebacker position.  What he lacks in size, Matt more than makes up for in speed, technique, versatility, and intelligence.  Matt is another three-sport athlete for the Cougars, also playing baseball and wrestling.  Matt will be a key piece of the Cougars plans on both sides of the ball.

Nick Thompson

Nick, commonly known as Dufur, has become a PLAYER. After injuries that would have stopped a normal human in his tracks, Mr. Thompson only worked harder! We will witness the fruit of his labors on the football field this fall for the Cougars. Nick has become the quickest and strongest lineman we will have on the field on both sides of the ball. On the offensive side he will be opening holes at guard. On the defensive side of the ball he will provide pressure at end and the H positions. He has become a leader on this football team and we are excited to see what he will do on the field this year. Off the field, Funnyman will keep us all on our toes! A finer young man cannot be found…

Hayden Czmowski

Hayden came on late last year as a defensive tackle and was a starter for us in our semi-final game against Sherwood. An extremely tough competitor, Hayden let’s his play on the field speak for himself. He is relentless in his effort and will be worth keeping an eye on when the Cougars are on defense. He worked extremely hard in the weight room over the off-season as well as competing in Track. Hayden will be the rock in the middle our defensive line and will see plenty of action on the offensive line as well. Although somewhat quiet and reserved, when Hayden is on the field you will know he is there!

Dillon Baker

Dillon will be fighting for the last spot on the starting defensive line this year at tackle, where he saw varsity action as a sophomore. He has great quickness and field savvy but last year lacked the focus to be a contributor on defense. His hard work in the off season and a new found focus has brought Dillon to a spot where he will be a major contributor on defense this year. He will also see plenty of action at tight end behind Nick Gentry. His efforts in fall camp have been superlative! We look for Dillon to be a major factor in the Cougars drive for a championship.

Dimitri Dillard

Demitri is a returning first team all-league and all-State corner, will be a key to the success of the Cougars defensive scheme.  As a defensive player Demitri is Mountain View’s shut down corner, lining up against opposing teams best receiver.  Demitri’s skills will be used more on offense this year, playing both running back and slot receiver to utilize his speed and quickness.

Josh Smith

Josh is a returning letterman, who has worked hard in the off-season getting faster and stronger, playing inside linebacker and fullback/running back this season.  A smart, instinctive and tough player, Josh will be important in all facets of the game from offense, to defense and to special teams.  Josh is also an excellent student with a   3.75 GPA while taking numerous Advanced Placement classes.

J.D. Warren

J.D., Cougar Offensive Guard, and Defensive Tackle, was born and raised in Bend and is the son of Brad and Danielle and has a sister Natalie.  He has played football for 11 years. Some of J.D.’s hobbies include 4x4-ing, shooting, hunting and fishing. His goal for the season is to help his team to win the State Championship.  After high school J.D. plans to attend college and become a Game Warden.

Dylan Johnson

Dylan was born in Astoria and has lived in Bend for 11 years with his parents, Joel and Sheri, and his sister Shendelle. He has played football for 8 years. When not playing football, his hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking and playing music.  His personal goal for the season is to be 1st Team All League Offensive Tackle and Defensive End.  His goal for the Cougars is to win State.

Brian Chapman

Brian, Mountain View Center and Defensive Tackle, was born in Tucson, Arizona and has lived in Bend 14 years with his mom Olga.  He has played football for 5 years and his other hobbies include listening and writing music, road trips and weight lifting.  Brian also wrestles for Mountain View.  For the season, his personal goal is to be 1st Team All League Center and to play in the Les Schwab Bowl.  His team goal for the season is to go 13-0 and win the State Championship. After high school Brian plans to attend Oregon State and apply to the Physician’s Assistant Program.

Jacob Hollister

Jacob “Boom Boom” Hollister has been our starting quarterback since midway in his sophomore year of high school and in that time has helped lead Mountain View to a 19-2 record and appearances in the 5A quarter and semi-finals.  Last year, as a junior, he took a big jump in many ways and had a breakout season finishing with 2000 yards, 27 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions.  He was named first team All-IMC and 2nd Team All-State by the Oregonian.  Look for Jacob to also play defense this season at the Free-Safety position as he becomes a two-way player for the Cougars.  He is currently being recruited by numerous College Football programs and he wants to continue playing the game he loves after he is done at Mountain View.  He is a three-sport athlete also playing basketball and is a starting pitcher on our baseball team.

James Winchell

James is in his third season as a Mountain View Cougar. He has made great improvement this off season in the weight room by always being there and working hard. We look for James to contribute to our Varsity as a fullback, defensive lineman and on special teams.

Colton Bachman

Colton comes into the 2011 season ready to break into the starting rotation at wide receiver and corner.  Colton has great footwork, is a solid open field tackler and has come a long way with his receiving skills.  His senior leadership will be seen on and off the field as Bachman has shown to be a leader throughout the off season.  As well as his offensive and defensive skills look for him to be a force on the Cougars special teams this season.

Conor Corson

Conor is in his fourth season playing football for Mountain View. He is a big, strong offensive and defensive lineman that adds depth to the team on both sides. He has done a great job of giving his teammates a great look in practice while getting better as a player. If he can continue to work hard and improve, he will really help this team.
